What does a work of art consist of when it disappears, when it completely changes its shape, when it becomes something it was not at the beginning?
(un)earthed: Nine sewn objects made of biodegradable fabric, buried in nine places. A work about material properties, duration and places, about disappearing and the things that appear from within it.
Sarah Burger (Switzerland) studied Philosophy, Comparative Literature and Linguistics in Zurich and Berlin as well as Art in Geneva. In 2017 she finished her PhD in Artistic Research at the Kunstuniversität Linz in collaboration with ZHdK, Zurich.
In her artistic practice she focuses on the idiosyncratic qualities of different materials, the on-going transformation of the surface of this planet earth by natural and cultural forces, as well as in the eclipsing contemporaneity of different periods of time.

No kā sastāv mākslas darbs, kad tas izzūd, kad tas pilnībā maina formu un kad tas kļūst par ko pilnīgi citu – ko tādu, kas tas nebija sākumā?
(iz)celts: sastāv no deviņiem objektiem, kas ir sašūti no bioloģiski noārdāma auduma un tika ierakti zemē deviņās dažādās vietās. Šis ir darbs, kas atklāj materiālu īpašības, to saglabāšanās ilgumu un vietas, par pazušanu un objektiem, kas no tā top.
Sāra Burgere (Šveice) ir studējusi filozofiju, literatūru un valodniecību Cīrihē un Berlīnē, kā arī mākslu Ženēvā. 2017. gadā viņa ieguva doktora grādu mākslas pētniecībā Lincas Mākslas un dizaina universitāte sadarbībā ar ZHdK, Cīrihē. Savā mākslas praksē viņa pievērš uzmanību dažādu materiālu savdabīgajām īpašībām un Zemes virsmas transformācijai, ko ietekmē gan daba, gan kultūra, kā arī dažādu laika periodu aptumšošanās.
